But when the Gospel is presented as a quick prayer to add Jesus to someone’s life, a quick fix to make everything better, we are presenting a false Gospel. This thinking simply says plug Jesus in and you’ll get everything you’ve ever wanted.
Many Christians use mercy and grace interchangeably, but there is a huge difference. Mercy is not getting the bad we deserve, which I am abundantly grateful for. However, grace is getting the good we don’t deserve.
I guess they had never heard the famous Winston Churchill quote, “Never give in — never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in…” As a great leader, Churchill advised people to not quit.
