Before you dismiss this because leader isn’t in your title, hang with me. I don’t care whether you are on the payroll at your church or if you do what you do for free. If you have relationships, you have influence.
Every weekend is somebody’s first weekend. And chances are better than average that you’re going to have a few outsiders trying to get inside this Sunday. How will they view their experience?
If you’re a leader at your church, I’d encourage you to set a few alarms for five minutes after the service begins, 15 after, 30 after. And in those moments, wander out to the lobby, to the entry doors. Do you see greeters ready to greet? Or do you see a ghost town that is devoid of life?
