Virtual Reality: Your next faith frontier?

Selling your child for sexual exploitation. Unimaginable? Perhaps. But a heart wrenching reality.
We all face major crossroads in life — moments when we're confronted with an insurmountable trial or challenge, or even a life or death situation. At those times, when we have to choose which way to go, only one degree separates the paths before us. Standing at these crossroads, literally one degree makes the difference between going left, toward death, or right, toward life.
As I composed myself, I made my way to the stage, with The List in my hand. I began to think about how The List would find root in situations like Syria. How could it be used to help and console the persecuted and suffering? How could it help turn the tide on ISIS?
Once again the senseless massacre of almost 150 students in Kenya has demonstrated the fallenness and depravity of humanity. It is impossible to comprehend the depth of brutality that human beings can perpetrate against others, particularly children and young people. Lives filled with so much hope and potential were snuffed out by the barbarity of those who seemingly will stop at nothing to promote their twisted ideology and beliefs.
True friendship is about mutual respect and recognition. It seems to me that the relationship between many U.S. Evangelicals and Israel is one-sided. Why do I say that?
In a few short weeks I will conclude my service as Chief Executive Officer/Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance. For the past 10 years I have had the immense privilege of leading this global community. One of my observations is that there is a growing passion amongst Christians of all traditions to cooperate together for the greater good of society.

We are grateful for this meeting, for the time and freedom to discuss together issues that deeply concern us all.
I write today from Bethlehem, the birthplace of our Christian faith and the region where 2 other world faiths were established. A region so gifted yet at the same time, a region over which we cry and mourn deeply because of the violence and wars that tear nations and people apart.
When Mark Burnett ("Survivor," "The Voice," "Celebrity Apprentice") and his wife, Roma Downey ("Touched by an Angel"), stepped into this well-traveled space, my initial response was skepticism. I firstly wanted to figure out where this particular effort would fit on my "cringe" scale – but I was in for a big surprise.
