Every year, I appreciate watching my American friends take part in their Thanksgiving tradition.
While the world is focused on the devastating war and horrifying amount of civilian casualties in Ukraine, Hamas and other violent terrorists have seized the moment to inflict violent harm on innocent civilians in Israel in a new wave of terror.
Passover and Easter are just around the corner. Here in Israel, that means our historic cities, iconic markets, and holy sites will be filled with activity on these sacred holidays. As we are all eager to finally put the coronavirus restrictions behind us, many tourists are finally making a long-awaited pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
Perhaps never before has the story of Passover transcended the borders of religion to apply to all my friends in the U.S. Who among us isn’t ready to be done with the phrase, “living through an historic crisis?”
But what many folks may not realize is that there are still Holocaust survivors living in Jerusalem today, and many of them don’t have the resources or the family network to help ease the burden the pandemic has placed on their shoulders.
