Throughout the Bible, prophetic ministry played a central role to the point that, if you take it out of the Bible, you no longer have a Bible. At the same time, prophetic ministry presented many challenges, with false prophets doing as much damage as true prophets did good.
Yes, this is the mob version of “community” – vandalizing a church that cares for the homeless and the mentally ill as well as trashing an LGBTQ-themed store.
But the damage had been on. Joy Behar had “misgendered” Jenner, something that I seriously doubt would have happened if Jenner had been running as a liberal Democrat rather than as a Republican. As Jenner explained in 2016, he gets more flak for being a Republican than he does for being trans.
But there is where I have a big problem with those who are condemning LeBron but failed to condemn Trump. It’s called unequal weights and measures. Jesus called it hypocrisy.
My point in writing this article is simply to state the obvious: we have always had guns in our country, but we have not always been this violent.
Guilty on all three counts. What are we to make of this trial and the events and comments surrounding it?
One of the first major names mentioned was Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, formerly regarded as one of our greatest Olympic male athletes and known as the father of some of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Have you seen the Project Veritas, undercover video footage exposing CNN’s extreme anti-Trump animus (see here and here)? Have you seen the candid comments about their intentional misrepresentations of both Trump (negatively) and Biden (positively)? Have you heard the unashamed admission that “fear sells”?
Yet, for many of us, it was even more shocking to learn that Abraham Piper, son of the influential pastor John Piper, had become an internet sensation, best known for his videos mocking his former evangelical beliefs.
It was good to see the Supreme Court rule yet again in favor of religious liberty in the latest California case to reach the nation’s highest court. Yet the fact that the ruling was only 5-4, not to mention some of the reasoning in the dissenting opinion, gives real cause for concern.
