CP World Report: Adam Lanza Social Disorder, Gun Control Debate

As police were still investigating the shootings that killed 20 children and six others inside a Connecticut school, private funeral services were being held for two six year old boys Noah Pozner and Jack Pinto, classmates at Sandy Hook Elementary. Meantime, family and friends of the suspect, Adam Lanza, said he suffered from a social disorder characterized by a lack of empathy for others.

The grieving process has begun following the mass murder of 27 people in Newtown, Connecticut last Friday. At Sandy Hook Elementary school twenty children and six adults were unmercifully shot several times as well as the shooters mother, Nancy Lanza, at her nearby home.

Egypt continues to deal with pandemonium as widespread protests take place over a bitterly divisive referendum on a new constitution. The army has stepped in, prompted by Morsi to help maintain control. But the duelling demonstrations between islamists and the opposition – made up of secular, liberal, leftwing and Christian groups – threatens to escalate. Over the weekend Morsi rescinded most of his own decree giving him unlimited powers.

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has made the decision to rescind most of his own controversial decree giving himself unlimited powers. Yet it has failed to stem the wave of massive protests against him. An opposition "National Salvation" was declared yesterday; a group that intends to boycott the vote on the new constitution, arguing that it was impossible against a background of Muslim Brotherhood intimidation.

Another strong earthquake has struck, just off the coast of Northeastern Japan this morning and now the country is bracing for a tsunami. The 7.3 quake happened in the same area as the 9.0 quake that happened in March 2011. This time, nuclear plants are unaffected.
