Life runs on denial
One can really argue that today, life literally runs on denial.
Robin Schumacher is an accomplished software executive and Christian apologist who has written many articles, authored and contributed to several Christian books, appeared on nationally syndicated radio programs, and presented at apologetic events. He holds a BS in Business, Master's in Christian apologetics and a Ph.D. in New Testament. His latest book is, A Confident Faith: Winning people to Christ with the apologetics of the Apostle Paul.

While Israel and Rome may have done their best to stop Christ from being King, God declared His Son's royal presence by bringing the mighty kingmakers, the magi, from Persia to acknowledge it.
I received an invitation to preview the first two episodes of Dr. Peterson's "Exodus" production, which were about four hours in total. Once you dive in, you’ll be surprised at how fast time flies by.
Brian Johnson has been the lead singer of the rock band AC/DC since 1980. Although I’m (shockingly) not a fan of songs like Highway to Hell or Hell’s Bells, I often hear the band’s music, being a classic rock fan. “Life there knocked the cruel out of you.”
The real question is not whether those working on the Revised Standard Version made a mistake in translation but rather what was the Apostle Paul originally saying in those verses.
Our beliefs today don’t conform to truth. Instead, they ricochet off our minds and hearts in all sorts of bizarre directions.
It’s amazing what ridiculous things supposedly smart people say. Why do some educated people want to deny Jesus’ existence?
“No man is better for knowing that God, in the beginning, created the Heaven and the earth. The devil knows that, and so did Ahab and Judas Iscariot. No man is better for knowing that God so loved the world of men that He gave His only begotten Son to die for their redemption. In Hell there are millions who know that. Theological truth is useless until it is obeyed. The purpose behind all doctrine is to secure moral action.”
And why is real evil boring? Because it cares about only one thing: itself. If you’ve ever spent time with a narcissist, you understand this.
Pike previously disbelieved in life after death but became convinced that his deceased son was trying to communicate with him from the afterlife. The various phenomena that occurred in the residence had the ‘signature’ of his dead son and relayed information in a way that only the younger Pike would know.
There’s a reason trigger warnings don’t work as intended and why every culture in history has had problems being “triggered” whether they’ve had social media or not.
We might not have the same pressing hardships Melanchthon had in his day, but the practical life warning of “here be dragons” still applies in our here and now.
A prayer life of thanking God for everything nonstop is easy, uplifting and allows me to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17).
In the end, looking horizontally first for happiness is a sure way to fail at it. Instead, we should “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matt. 6:33).
The awesomeness of this Gospel is that it agrees with and directly addresses what Beatrice Webb observed: “No amount of knowledge or science will be of any avail unless we can curb the bad impulses of the human heart.”
If there’s one succinct way to sum up the chaos and corruption we see every day in America it would be that we have lost our skill at living.
Simply put — eternity is an awfully long time to be wrong, especially when you know deep down now that you’re staring His truth in the face.
That worship expressive involves the intellect as well as the emotion, which is why worship is much more than the music selected for a service. Sadly, much of church today involves mindless delivery and rote participation that does not bring a person before the throne of God.
When it comes to hatetheists, once I’ve made an attempt to share the Gospel and answer their questions to the best of my ability, and they exhibit the characteristics I've noted above, I’ll then sadly follow Jesus’ simple command and, “let them alone”.
They know what the Bible says, what it means in general and how it applies to them in particular where the recognition of God is concerned and the moral implications of that. And, truth be told, that’s usually the real problem.
