'Wash Yo Hands' by Danny Gokey

Lastly, contemporary Christian artist Danny Gokey released a comical instructional video of a song titled, “Wash Yo Hands.” Gokey challenged the younger generation to engage in the “Wash Yo Hands Challenge.”  

“Whether it's the flu, COVID-19, or just the common cold, here are some great principles to follow, and music is a great way to spread the message. In light of current public health concerns, this is a fun reminder to be vigilant without instilling fear. So share the song, learn the moves, and stay healthy!” Gokey said in a video posted on YouTube.

He added: “As a dad of four kids, the health of my family is really important. In light of current public health concerns and today's declaration of a national emergency, I wanted to find a way to make sure my kids were being vigilant without instilling fear. So me and a couple of friends got together to write a light-hearted jingle that kids could sing and dance to. But more importantly to help them remember good disease prevention practices. Whether it's the flu, a common cold or COVID-19, music is always a great way to learn a good principle. So share it, learn the dance moves and stay healthy!

Gokey sings, "I don't want you feeling bad, 'cause feeling sick can make you sad. … Wa-wa-wash your hands / When you gotta cough cough turn your head. Then you gotta clean, clean, clean your space / This is how you keep keep germs away."
