11 Games Released For The Nintendo Switch This Week

The Nintendo Switch game library just got bigger this week with 11 new additions in the coming days. Among them are indie titles that were highlighted in a recent Nindies Showcase.

Following the release of Stardew Valley on the Switch early this month, the publisher is continuing to roll out highlighted Nindie titles. This week, Switch owners welcome the addition of "Yono and the Celestial Elephants" and "Wulverblade." Both games were highlighted during the August Nintendo Switch Showcase along with other promising indie titles.

In addition, nine more titles will be making their way to the hybrid console. These include "Squareboy vs. Bullies: Arena Edition," "Don't Knock Twice," "Putty Pals," "ACA NEOGEO The King Of Fighters '95," "Rogue Trooper Redux," "88 Heroes," "Unbox: Newbie's Adventures," "The Flame in the Flood: Complete Edition" and "Neon Chrome." Alongside the new titles coming to the Switch, a demo for the the Zelda-inspired, isometric adventure game "Oceanhorn" was also released.

While this week doesn't seem to be quite as packed in terms of game releases, the constant flow of games hints at the growing popularity of the Nintendo Switch. And while a large portion of the games coming to the console may be indie in nature, this doesn't mean that it isn't getting any love from big developers.

EA, Bethesda, and a few others have expressed their intention to develop games for the Switch as well as port their existing ones. Some of these games are set to be released later this year including big names "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" and "Resident Evil Revelations 1 + 2."

Nintendo hasn't scrimped on their first-party releases either with the upcoming release of Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on Oct. 27 and Dec. 1 respectively. With such frequent game releases, it's probably safe to say that being a Nintendo Switch owner feels pretty good.
