2016 Ford Bronco Rumors: Concept and Price Emerge

Ford may be releasing a new car that's been discontinued for almost two decades – the Ford Bronco, albeit with a new concept and design.

Rumors have been cropping up over the emergence of the 2016 Ford Bronco, a model from way back 20 years ago, which Ford is reportedly planning a rebirth geared for the end of the year.

Its earlier 2004 design is said to have undergone several changes, following Ford's new pickup truck and SUV models' exterior makeup.

Speculations on the car's design point towards a Ford Atlas-like platform, with an aerodynamic exterior with more curves than the original. There have also been some hints the Ford Bronco will sport chrome bumpers to add to the vehicle's masculine vibe, as well as new taillights and LED headlights.

Should rumors about the Atlas platform prove to be true, it is likely the pick-up's body will be encased in lightweight material, but will be built based on off-road specifications

The vehicle will feature a spacious and comfortable interior with massive seats and wide leg room to accommodate five adult passengers. The backseat is roomy enough for children, their pets, and their gear. Leather features, a wide LCD screen, and a high-tech audio system will accompany the vehicle's MyFord infotainment system.

The 2016 Ford Bronco is rumored to carry either one of two engines: a 5-liter Coyote V-8 engine with a 420 horsepower capacity, or a 4.9-liter Powerstroke V-6 diesel engine with 330 horsepower with a 645 lb-ft if torque for heavy loads. Reportedly offering 18 to 20 mpg fuel economy features, it is also said to have either a six-speed 6R140 automatic transmission, or a ZF-6 speed manual transmission.

It may likewise be sporting Goodyear's LT 265/70R18 all-terrain tires with six-spoke 18-inch aluminum wheels, the same type of tires found on the 2004 Ford Bronco.

The Ford Bronco is expected to roll out by the end of 2015 for approximately $45,950, the same price range as the 2015 Ford F-150.
