2017 Mitsubishi Mirage Has Upgraded Exterior, Performance, and Fuel Efficiency

The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage was unveiled during this year's Los Angeles Auto Show and the new car boasts of an upgraded exterior, performance, and fuel efficiency.

Mitsubishi has also refreshed the look of the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage by adding a redesigned hood, LED lighting, alloy wheels, and chrome-framed grille and bumpers. The new car is also lighter than its predecessor and its aerodynamic design contributes to its improved fuel efficiency, according to the Ecumenical News.

Other improvements noted in the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage are found in the handling and brakes. The car now has bigger brakes, a new brake pad, and better stability. The bigger brakes and retuned suspension of the vehicle were specifically made for North American customers, Green Car Reports explains.

One thing that did not change in the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage is its 1.2-liter three-cylinder DOHC engine that can put out 78 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque. Consumers can choose from either the five-speed manual transmission or the CVT automatic gearbox, the report details.

As for the interior, consumers will be delighted with the new seat fabrics, shift panel, steering wheel, and gauge cluster of the latest Mirage. It also boats of a 300-watt Rockford-Fosgate audio system that comes with EcoPunch and an infotainment system. The car will be the first Mitsubishi model that will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the report relays.

When it comes to safety features, the new Mirage does not disappoint with its seven-airbag sytem, electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, active stability control, and four-wheel anti-lock brakes. The CVT transmission has the Hill Star Assist.

As of now, there are no available confirmed pricing details for the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage. The new car will be available at U.S. dealers by spring next year. More information about the new car will be released when the release date draws near.
