3 Times Planned Parenthood, Abortion Groups, Promoted Themselves After National Crises

2. 'Free Abortions' in the Aftermath of Hurricane Harvey

Shortly after Hurricane Harvey dumped dozens of inches of rain on the Houston-area of Texas, a feminist organization offered free abortions.

Whole Woman's Health, which has chapters in several states, wrote in a post on its website that "we know all too well that abortion can be difficult to access in some parts of the country, especially in Texas. There are already so many barriers to access this necessary procedure, and natural disasters stand in the way of women getting to their appointment and/or being able to afford care."

This is tactic straight out of Planned Parenthood's playbook, Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood employee, wrote on Townhall. Planned Parenthood offered abortion services in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

"Did we collect non-perishable food items for those who had been displaced? Nope. We decided that we would offer victims of Katrina free abortions. That's right. Free abortions. Except they were not totally free. We never did anything for free and were paid one way or another," Johnson said.
