300 Animals in Home: Homeowners Charged, Animals Put in Shelter (VIDEO)
300 animals in a home in Berea, Parma have had to be rounded up and taken away by authorities, and their owners cited for various violations in relation to the animals.
A warrant was served at 10 a.m. local time at a residence on West 54th Street for poor conditions. However, once inside officials were stunned to find hundreds of animals including birds, dogs and rabbits roaming the house.
In total more than 300 animals were found to be living there; about 250 birds, 30 quails, 33 dogs, 6 cats and 10 rabbits.

Officials have charged the homeowners for failure to obtain the proper dog licenses, as well as failure to provide the proper rabies vaccinations for the animals. In addition the homeowners were cited for allowing their property to become a nuisance to their neighbors and local area.
Many of the animals were removed from the home, and reports have claimed that the dogs are being temporarily housed at the Parma Animal Shelter on 6260 State Road.
However, the birds and rabbits have not yet been removed from the residence as the shelter has no room to take them in, nor the resources to care for so many birds.
The homeowners have allegedly been instructed to get rid of the animals within 24 hours. However, the female owner has said that the rabbits did not belong to her, and that she was simply looking after them for their owners. She has said she will return them to their owners as soon as possible.
The resident reportedly plans to take the birds and quails to a flea market to try and sell them.
It has also been claimed in other reports that shelter volunteers believe the dogs were being used as part of a breeding operation, given the number of puppies and pregnant bitches among the dogs.
The reports also claim that the dogs on the whole are in good health, although there were problems with fleas and eye irritation among some.
