As tensions continue between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pence spoke about how the administration is pursuing a “maximum-pressure campaign to change Iran’s malign behavior and hold the regime accountable for its destructive actions.”

“The Iranian economy is reeling under unprecedented U.S. sanctions,” explained Pence. “Iran must choose between caring for its people and continuing to fund its proxies who spread violence and terrorism throughout the region and breathe out murderous hatred against Israel.”

“We hope for the best, but the United States of America and our military are prepared to protect our interests and protect our personnel and our citizens in the region.”

Pence vowed that the Trump administration would not allow the Islamic Republic to get a nuclear weapon, despite apparent efforts on the part of the regime to do so.
