4-Year-Old Banned From Doughnut Inn for Asking Customer if She Was Pregnant
The family of a 4-year-old boy was left outraged after the boy was banned from a donut shop simply for asking a customer if she was pregnant. Even though the customer was not offended, the donut shop owners insisted that the boy and his family were "rude" and not allowed in.
Rebecca Denham and her son were at the Doughnut Inn in Munroe, Connecticut when the incident occurred. She said that 4-year-old Justin asked a fellow customer had a baby in her belly.
"My response was, 'Oh my goodness, I'm so embarrassed, I'm so sorry,'" Denham told WFSB.

The woman insisted that she was not offended and told Denham it was "no problem." However, there was a problem with the managers, which Denham did not discover until the following day, when they tried to enter the shop.
"She said, 'he's not allowed in here,' and I looked around and said, 'him?' and she said, 'yeah, he's rude,'" Denham said.
She tried to explain the full situation to the managers, but they insisted that the family leave the premises. The Doughnut Inn operates two other stores in Munroe, but the owner has declined to comment to the media about the situation. People have reached out and offered support to Denham and her son, leaving negative reviews about the Doughnut Inn on Yelp and other social media.
Some have argued that there is more to the story that is not being told, such as the mother's behavior at the Inn, but others have questioned whether or not there is, given that the management is not issuing any statement or addressing the situation.
"I suspect there's more to the story than the mom's version of events," NY Daily News user Deb Stimson posted online.
Denham has said that she and Justin will not be returning to any of the Doughnut Inn establishments and will take their business elsewhere.
"Some people, unfortunately, are quick to pass judgment," Denham told NY Daily News.
