Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a former U.S. Senator, first lady and the 2016 Democratic nominee for president, echoed Graham's praise for Ukraine in a tweet released Wednesday night. "Zelensky has led his people and his country through 10 months of war with Churchillian courage and resolve," she wrote.

Clinton's use of the term "Churchillian" refers to former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchill, who led his country through World War II. She continued to draw parallels between what's unfolding in Ukraine today and the atrocities of World War II.

"Eighty years after Churchill addressed Congress and America amid the Blitz, our message now must be the same from all quarters as it was then: We are with you," she said.
