United Airlines
Although United Airlines did not make it onto NCOSE’s Dirty Dozen List in 2020, it had previously drawn the ire of the advocacy organization for failure to implement policies that protect flight crews and passengers from sexual harassment, including the viewing of pornography during flights.
United also faced allegations that it had paid “hush money” to a woman who sat next to a man who masturbated during the flight and, in another case, that flight attendants made jokes about a man masturbating next to a woman, suggesting that he was motivated to do so because of her perfume.
Early last year, before the 2020 Dirty Dozen List was released, United Airlines modified in-person flight attendant training to advise crew members on how to deal with the issue of passengers viewing pornography. The airline established a zero-tolerance policy for the viewing of hardcore pornography and anything over an R-rating.
