$99 HP TouchPad: Samsung Galaxy S2 Fire Sale? (VIDEO)
The unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone is experiencing a price drop in the United States, according to the Android Police website.
The technology website said the unlocked Galaxy S2 has been going for lower prices overseas. Android Police revealed that this trend is making its way to the U.S.
"Last month we saw an unlocked version of Samsung’s Galaxy S2 at Mobile Daily Steal for a cool $100 off its original price," said Android Police. "If you were hoping to get an ever so slightly deeper discount on Samsung’s hottest smartphone to date you chance has arrived."
The unlocked Galaxy S2 will be available on eBay for $489.99 for the next 24 hours, according to Android Police.
The Galaxy S2 comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread pre-installed.
Its specifications include a 4.3-inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus Display, 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 2-megapixel front shooter, 1 GB RAM, a 1.2 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and expandable storage via MicroSD up to 32 GB.
The unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 should work on most United States networks, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint.
This smartphone is also available with a contract on AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint as the Epic 4G Touch.
It is also expected to receive the new Ice Cream Sandwich operating system update sometime in 2012.
The deal is not quite an HP TouchPad fire sale, but it is a deal for those who do not have an upgrade option with their carrier.
