A Neighborhood Comes Together to Help an Elderly Man and His Best Friends

In times of struggle, people have the tendency to unite together. This saying couldn't ring any truer than in the case of Charlie George. After being diagnosed with leukemia, it became harder for Charlie to get around. Luckily he has best friends who care enough to help him along.

The treatment for this form of cancer is very hard on the body, and patients often require lots of rest in order to conserve energy. For many in this position, simple tasks can be very exhausting. People in the neighborhood are aware of this, and they came up with a brilliant idea.

Homes from all over the neighborhood saw Charlie's struggle and helped him with a simple gesture: they placed chairs on their lawns so when he walks with his best friends and gets tired, he is able to rest.
