Rev. Dean Nelson, the president of the network of pro-life pregnancy centers Human Coalition, reacted to Issue 1's passage in a statement shared with The Christian Post.

Nelson declared that pro-life activists won't be
"deterred by tonight's disappointing results because a culture of life depends upon more than laws."

"No matter the outcome, vulnerable women in Ohio would still be seeking abortion for the same reason they have been — poverty, the pressure of family and friends, or dire domestic circumstances," he said.

"Human Coalition and our partner pregnancy centers in Ohio will continue to provide these women true alternatives to abortion and give them lasting care and support they deserve," he vowed. "It took 50 years to undo Roe v. Wade, so pro-lifers are used to temporary setbacks on the long road to ending abortion. We will not rest in our work to save as many lives as possible and shield women from the horrors of the abortion industry."
