Aaliyah's Memory Honored by Entertainers on 34th Birthday
Aaliyah Haughton, multi-platinum selling singer and actress, would have turned 34-years-old on Jan 16, and the music world decided to honor the late singer 12 years after her death.
Although Aaliyah died in 2001 when her plane crashed following her "Rock The Boat" video shoot in the Bahamas, a number of entertainers took to Twitter to wish the singer a happy birthday. Sean "Diddy" Combs, music mogul, took to Twitter to share a picture of Aaliyah with his Twitter followers.
"Happy Birthday To The Beautiful Aaliyah," Combs tweeted.

Music producer and artist Missy Elliott who worked closely with Aaliyah in the past, tweeted about the late singer's memory.
"We Miss you Aaliyah! It's not a day go pass we don't think of u and how your music still has (an) impact on the World," Elliott tweeted. "Rip Baby girl."
Elliott's longtime friend, producer and fellow Aaliyah collaborator took to his Twitter to share a video of the late singer's song "4 Page Letter" with fans on Twitter.
Monica Brown, R&B singer, took to Twitter to honor her fellow entertainer by writing, " #Aaliyah Forever we love u..."
Earl "DMX" Simmons, rapper and actor who has collaborated with Aaliyah both in films and music, also took to Twitter to honor her memory.
"You were a true angel on earth..Happy Birthday Aaliyah," the rapper tweeted.
While singer Jessie J was not successful in the entertainment business while Aaliyah was climbing up the record charts, she took time to retweet a message honoring the late singer.
"Aaliyah would've been 34 today. Happy birthday, RIP," the message reads.
While Aaliyah began her journey in the world of R&B in the early 90s with popular singles like "Back and Forth", she rose to fame with her sophomore album "One In a Million." However, the late singer managed to hit her peak before her untimely death when her third self-titled album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 Albums chart in 2001.
