ABC Announces 'A Very Gaga Thanksgiving'
ABC has announced that it will air a special Thanksgiving program conceived and directed by Lady Gaga this year.
The singer will give eight performances in front of a small crowd, and share an intimate conversation with Katie Couric on Nov. 24. Tony Bennett and Chef Art Smith will also make appearances on the telecast.
The sit-down interview with Couric will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic School in Manhattan, where Gaga graduated, and will cover topics such as sources of inspiration for the singer.

“A Very Gaga Thanksgiving” will reveal details of the singer’s life – her family, friends, and her past, and will feature a duet of “The Lady Is a Tramp” alongside Bennett. Gaga will also sing her hit singles “Marry the Night,” “You and I,” and “The Edge of Glory,” as well as holiday songs such as “White Christmas.”
The holiday special is a product of Steven Johnson from Factory Films and Lincoln Square Productions, while Rudy Bednar and David Saltz serve as executive producers.
The singer has appeared on television specials in the past. Earlier this year, Lady Gaga appeared on The CW Television Network headlining a telecast, “Gaga by Gaultier,” in which fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier interviewed the singer.
Lady Gaga is well known for taking a stand against discrimination and often dresses in unique, sometimes controversial outfits. In September, the singer made a vow against bullying after the tragic suicide of one of her fans.
Jamey Rodemeyer took his own life Sept. 18 after long-suffering from bullying. A Lady Gaga fan, his final Twitter post revealed a farewell to the singer, who refers to her fans as “little monsters.”
Gaga took to her Twitter account to state her cause, writing: “Jamey Rodemeyer, 14 yrs old, took his life because of bullying, bullying must become be illegal. It is a hate crime.”
Gaga appeared at an Obama fundraiser event during the time, but it is unclear if the singer was able to discuss her concerns with the president or if they plan on meeting to talk about anti-bullying policies.
