Adele Grammy Performance Overshadowed by Houston's Death
There is huge anticipation at the 54th annual Grammy Awards Sunday night with many eagerly awaiting the first performance from Adele since she had microsurgery on her throat at the end of last year.
But tragically the thoughts of most people will be with Whitney Houston and her family, following her death Saturday afternoon. However, despite the solemn mood Adele will be looking to offer a top performance and pay respect to Houston's memory.
"I know I'm going to be fine. I'm a bit worried about everyone waiting to hear what my voice is going to be sounding like," Adele told CNN's Anderson Cooper. "That's what I'm worried about."

"I'm nervous, but I'm more excited. I can't wait to get back to work. And it's, you know, it's an incredible night," she said.
The British pop star continued to state, "I'm so honored by the nominations and the fact I get to go, the fact that I get to play and stuff like that."
Even though Adele fans have been anxious to see her perform, the whole night will be overshadowed with the news of Houston's death.
With only a day to prepare for the tribute, singer-actress Jennifer Hudson was asked to conduct a musical performance for the beloved Houston.
Ken Ehrlich, executive producer of the Grammys, confirmed to CBS affiliates early Sunday that he was working with Hudson on the tribute, according to WISTV.com
"She's a good friend of the Grammys," Ehrlich said. "She's had some very significant appearances on the show. It felt right to ask to her to come and help us honor Whitney, which she will do musically."
For those who remember Houston was the one who presented Hudson with her first Grammy award. Hudson had described that moment as an inspiration for the rest of her career.
Ehrlich explained to AP that even though there will be a dedication and performances during the Grammy's to honor the legendary star there was not enough time for large-scale memorial.
In addition to Adele, Sunday night's award show will feature appearances and performances from those on top of the music industry including; Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and Alicia Keys.
Bonnie Raitt is also scheduled to pay tribute to the late Etta James who passed away last week.
The Grammys will be televised live on Sunday from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The award show is set to begin at 8 p.m. on CBS.
