Adele Tour Cancelled as Singer Prepares for Surgery
Widely acclaimed singer Adele has canceled all tour dates and promotional activities for the rest of 2011 according to an announcement by Columbia Records.
Just last week the singer was forced to cancel the remainder of her tour in the U.S. due to a hemorrhage on her vocal chord and now it appears that the young singer will be unable to perform all together for quite some time.
Columbia Records announced that the popular singer will be undergoing surgery “to alleviate the current issues with her throat.”

The company released a statement saying, “It is with deep regret that Adele has been forced to cancel her remaining live dates and promotional appearances in 2011.”
The company also said that doctors have ordered Adele to “rest her voice and completely recuperate” prior to committing to any work related events in the future.
Although the singer will be out of commission, she and her Grammy winning voice are expected to make a full recovery.
Adele is currently reining on the top of the U.S. charts beating out equally popular artists such as Rihanna and Lady Gaga with her single, “Someone Like You.”
The 23-year-old British soul singer and songwriter has become a worldwide sensation for her immense vocal talent displayed in songs such as “Rolling in the Deep” and “Turning Tables.”
Adele was born in 1988 to a single teenage mother. She attended The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology and was discovered via a posting on Myspace.
She has received much acclaim in the music industry and won the Grammy Award in 2009 for Best New Artist.
Upon news of the tour cancellations stars like Russell Simmons took to Twitter to wish the singer the best.
Simmons said, “I really hope the best for Adele. She has the voice of an angel.”
