'Agents of SHIELD' Spinoff Rumor: ABC President Confirms Pilot For 'Marvel's Most Wanted'

After rumors of development and cancellation, fans of the hit superhero drama TV series from ABC, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D," will get to see more of agents Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter in action as the network has officially confirmed the pilot order of "Marvel's Most Wanted."

Set to star S.H.I.E.L.D. cast members Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood as their respective characters, ABC President Paul Lee announced at the Television Critics Association panel that the plans, which started back in 2015, have finally come to fruition.

"We are making it in the next few months," Lee was quoted as saying during the event via Deadline.com. "It's a really good script."

The media outlet added that the project will be spearheaded by S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producers Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski.

A question now pops into mind: if the "Most Wanted" pilot gets ordered into a series, could that mean Palicki and Blood will have to sign off from the Clark Gregg-fronted main show?

For S.H.I.E.L.D. co-exec producers, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, that might be the case.

During the TCA open panel, Whedon told IGN.com that "logistically it does mean they're going to be leaving to make that."

"They're a part of our show. We definitely think they are capable of carrying an entire other show. That being said, it's sort of bittersweet. We're very excited about the new show," the showrunner told the publication.

Tancharoen chimed in to say that Adrianne's Bobbi, who kicks ass, and the one-liner humor from Blood's Hunter, was something that they could always count on in the show.

Despite the thought that the two cast members will be leaving the S.H.I.E.L.D. family, they still are an integral part in unraveling more stories about the Marvel Universe.

Having read the pilot, Tancharoen and Whedon said that it's a mixture of the things that viewers expect and the unexpected as well.
