Alex Trebek Hurt in Hotel Burglary
“Jeopardy” host Alex Trebek injured his leg while chasing a burglar out of his San Francisco hotel room Tuesday morning.
Trebek showed up at Google headquarters for taping of the National Geographic World Championship in a leg brace Wednesday.
The 71-year-old game show host told audience members that he hurt his leg while chasing a robber out of his hotel room, according to KTVU.

Police responded to a report of a break-in at the San Francisco Marriot Marquis around 3 a.m., Tuesday.
Lt. Troy Dangerfield, not directly identifying Trebek and his wife, said, “Two hotel guests were sleeping when a woman entered their room and stole a number of items, including purses.”
According to Dangerfield, one of the guests woke up and chased the woman down the hall as she was leaving the room. He reported, “During the chase, the victim fell and injured his leg.”
The 56-year-old suspect, Lucinda Moyers was arrested under suspicion of burglary and stolen property.
According to police, no other suspects appear to be involved. Several stolen items were found near the hotel ice machine, but no money was recovered.
“Jeopardy” senior publicist Phil Zimmerman said Trebek was doing well but did not want to make any further comment on the incident.
The hotel’s director of sales and marketing, Leslie Duncan, also stated that Moyers was not a Marriot employee. Duncan could not answer how the woman got into the room, but said, “safety and security are paramount to our guests.”
