3. Obama administration accused of not applying pressure to extradite a terrorist charged with attempting to murder Americans

Among the claims the article makes is that the Obama administration did not apply "serious pressure" on the Czech government to extradite a top Lebanese arms dealer and suspected Hezbollah operative, Ali Fayad, a key supplier of weapons to Syria and Iraq.

According to Politico, Fayad had been indicted in U.S. court on charges of planning the murders of U.S. government employees and attempting to provide material support to terrorist organizations.

"He is now believed by U.S. officials to be back in business, and helping to arm militants in Syria and elsewhere with Russian heavy weapons," the report states.

Although former Obama officials declined to comment on particular cases, they told Politico that the State Department condemned the Czech government decision not to hand over Fayad.

At the time, the U.S. Embassy condemned the Czech government's refusal to extradite Fayad.
