Android 4.4 Kit Kat Update Rolls Out for Droid Ultra, MAXX and Mini
The Android 4.4 update is now available for the Droid Ultra, MAXX and Mini smartphones.
Verizon took to its Twitter account to say that it was pushing out a KiKat update for all three of these devices just one month after it began rolling it out for the Moto X.
KitKat brings new color emoji support, smarter power use, and immersive mode along with a slew of other features. There are also some Droid/Verizon specific changes made to the devices such as several carrier exclusive apps being updated and a new version of the Droid Zap sharing utility has been added. Official support for Fitbit has been added as well.

Android 4.4 also rolled out for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition this week.
The device will receive the latest version of the software which is Android 4.4.2. It is 444MB and brings some serious bug fixes to the Xperia Z Ultra GPe.
The security settings menu was inaccessible at first-- users were unable to uninstall apps from the device, clearing data in an app caused forced closures, and using voice commands in Google Now was riddled with various small issues. Google has acknowledged these bugs and has hopefully corrected some of them with the new software.
Android 4.3, JellyBean update is now available for the Sony Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra
Sony originally promised that it would be available for the two devices starting in either November or December and the company seemed to stick by its word. The roll out has officially begun and should be available via automatic notification.
The new update brings some Sony-specific changes to the device along with Android 4.3. The interface has been improved and Sony native apps have been updated. The Xperia Z Ultra will get the Sony Smart Social Camera that was first introduced on the Z1.
