Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie-Powered Motorola X Release Delayed Until August
The rumored Motorola X smartphone was originally expected to be released in May, but new reports point to its launch being pushed back to August.
The device will not see the light of day until the end of the summer or after, according to Phone Arena. The site predicts the Motorola X will not launch until August or after.
This means the smartphone might not be unveiled until after Google I/O.

A render of the rumored X Phone surfaced on the internet last month.
More specs were also revealed by an anonymous tipster who stated that the X Phone could be IP57 certified, which means it could be submerged in a meter of water for as long as 30 minutes and will still function. It will also have Gorilla Glass protection and no microSD slot.
There have been many rumors regarding this new high-end Motorola smartphone and other specifications for the device surfaced yesterday.
The handset will feature a 4.8-inch display made from sapphire glass and a 4,000mAh battery, PhoneArena reported. This information seemed to line up well with an earlier report from Google's CEO Larry Page, who stated that future Motorola smartphones would feature better batteries and impact-resistant designs.
There were also more specifications revealed in this report, including corners being made with rubber bumpers, a carbon fiber back case, and a quad-core 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
Androidworld.nl recently received information on the specifications for the upcoming device. However, the site claimed to have two conflicting sources, and the report did not match up with this recent one by PhoneArena.
9to5Google wasn't sold on these specifications for this Google device based on what Larry Page told the site in a conference call. Page stated that Google's goal with this device is to have it withstand drops and have long battery life. The current report lines up much better with Page's comments.
