Angelina Jolie Writes Intro to Ex Billy Bob Thornton's Book
Angelina Jolie helped ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton with his memoir, The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts by writing the forward for the book.
Angelina Jolie, who was married to Billy Bob for three years, wrote the introduction for the book, showing fans that the two still have a very friendly relationship. Jolie isn't the only celebrity to contribute to Thornton's memoir, though.
"Introduction by Angelina Jolie, with commentary by Robert Duvall, Dwight Yoakam and Tom Epperson," read Amazon.com's description of the book. The Billy Bob Tapes is due to be released in a little under three months on May 15.
The book, which Thornton co-wrote with country music singer and author Kinky Friedman, talks about many facets of the movie star's life, including little known facts about his fears, five marriages, and career as an iconic actor.
"Colorful tales of his modest (to say the least) Southern upbringing, his bizarre phobias (komodo dragons?), his life, his loves (including his heartbreakingly brief marriage to fellow Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie), and, of course, his movie career," are some of the subjects discussed throughout the memoir.
Billy Bob said that he and Jolie are on "fantastic terms," since the breakup, according to an interview with Vulture.com. "We talk off and on all the time."
The news of Jolie's favor done for her ex comes after speculation surrounding Thornton's latest movie, "And Then We Drove," was partly based on the pair's whirlwind marriage. In the movie, Billy Bob's character, a homicide detective, picks up a mysterious woman by the side of the road.
Producer Alexander Rodnyansky was quoted by The Washington Post on the art imitating life in Thornton's movie.
"When I asked [Rodnyansky if] 'Drove' was partly based on Thorton's time with Jolie and his driving, Rodnyansky said 'Right. It's very much based on that experience as well.'"
Thornton blatantly denied the allegations in his interview with Vulture.
"Believe me, if I were gonna write a movie about her, we certainly wouldn't announce it until it was done," he said. "We haven't even started on this movie yet! And the idea has nothing to do with the way I met her or anything to do with her."
