Ann Coulter Temporarily Silenced by MSNBC
Ann Coulter has appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” but had difficulty expressing herself. In the middle of a sentence, Coulter was “bleeped” three times by MSNBC censors.
The transcribed statement reads: “I'd rather have [silence] McCain was consistent, he was [silence] we have Romney and Gingrich [silence]. What did I say? Douchebag?"
The media has been having a field day with this show of censorship, with one report saying “MSNBC has managed to do what few, if any, have managed before -- it has silenced Ann Coulter, however momentarily.”

A comment on Coulter’s website says: “I didn't call McCain a douchebag. I said consistency is overrated because, for example, McCain was consistently a d**kweed.”
Coulter has come out as a supporter of Mitt Romney, a candidate known for being rather inconsistent. Even her “endorsement” comes with biting commentary.
“The mainstream media keep pushing alternatives to Mitt Romney not only because they are terrified of running against him, but also because they want to keep Republicans fighting, allowing Democrats to get a four-month jump on us.”
This is not the first time her appearance has garnered much attention and controversy. Most recently Coulter was criticized for what some viewed as racist statements about the Democratic Party.
"Our blacks are so much better than their blacks," she said, speaking of Democrats. "To become a black Republican, you don't just roll into it. You're not going with the flow...and that's why we have very impressive blacks in the Republican Party."
In May 2010, Coulter was scheduled to appear at the University of Ottawa but was met with great protests. Her event was canceled due to the potential for violence, according to her staff. Students, however, insisted that there was never any real threat against Coulter.
Coulter’s response: “At the good schools -- the Ivy league schools in America and their equivalent -- there is no hassle whatsoever.”
