Anne Graham Lotz's Calls on Christians to Join 8-Day Bible-Listening Revival Challenge
Billy Graham's daughter, renowned evangelist and author Anne Graham Lotz, has announced the start of a Bible-based initiative on the subject of revival, and is calling on Christians to join her in listening to eight hours of the Bible in the first eight days of August.
"Do you long for revival? Not just a tent meeting. Not just a series of church meetings, but an outpouring of God's spirit where God's people wake up in their relationship with God. I do. In II Chronicles when King Josiah rediscovered the Word of God, he read it out loud to the people and they experienced revival," Lotz said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
"In the book of Nehemiah, after God's people had been in captivity for 70 years, they came back to Jerusalem and Ezra, the Scribe, got up before them and he just read the Word of God, and they had revival," she added.

Lotz said she wonders what would happen if everyone "hit life's pause button" and spent time each day to listen to the Word of God in the Bible.
"So, join me as together we listen to the Word of God for eight hours in the first eight days of August, one hour a day; let's see what God would do," she challenged fellow Christians.
Lotz has spoken and written a great deal about the subject of revival in her book The Daniel Prayer: Prayer That Moves Heaven and Changes Nations. Last week she was a guest on the nationally syndicated radio talk show "Point of View" with Kerby Anderson, where she offered hope that America has not yet passed the "point of no return" when it comes to facing God's judgment.
"[Prayer] is something that is becoming more frequent and more intense," Lotz said. "The encouraging thing is that I don't think God would be stirring us up to pray like that if He didn't want to answer the prayers. So, it reveals to me that I don't think we have quite passed the point of no return."
Lotz has specifically claimed that America's embrace of LGBT rights and abortions are "national sins" that are turning God against the nation.
"[If] we still refuse to repent, then [God] just takes His hands off and leaves us to ourselves and leaves us to our own devices, which I feel like is where we are at right now in America," the evangelist said, while reflecting on Romans 1.
"But, we are not too far gone that I think right now, we can cry out and return to Him. And Joel 2 says, He will return to us."
She has further warned that the solution for America is not to be found in politics or the economy or the military or technology, but "on our knees as we humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face, and repent of our sin. Then plead for Him to return to us as we return to Him."
