Anthony Bourdain Received Harsh Hate Mail After Paula Deen Comments

"No Reservations" host and world renowned chef Anthony Bourdain recently revealed his bad experience with some Paula Deen fans. He received some harsh hate mail for his negative comments he made about her.

In a recent Q&A interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Bourdain admits that the experience with some of Deen's diehard supporters was a little "scary."

"A year ago, before she announced that she has diabetes, I dared to suggest that the food she was advocating was dangerous for you, and I received a lot of scary mail and Facebook posts," Bourdain told the publication. "It was the first time I've ever been frightened."

Bourdain, who is known for his "bad boy" persona that he frequently displays on his Travel television series, also criticized Deen when she came clean about having diabetes during an episode of the "Today" show back in January.

Shortly after the news, he took to his Twitter account and wasted no time slamming Deen and her new plans to back a drug that would be used to treat the disease.

"Thinking of getting into the leg breaking business so I can profitably sell crutches later," he tweeted.

She replied to him by stating that his comments were "very cruel."

Bourdain even called her "the most dangerous person to America," and stated that she is proud of the fact that the food she cooks on her show is unhealthy for a majority of people at one point.

Despite his attitude towards her in the past, he did admit to Rolling Stone that he needs to learn how to bridle his tongue.

"I don't know what my problem is, honestly," Bourdain said. "Why can't I just live and let live? It's a personal failing."

But Bourdain still feels Deen acted in poor taste by making the decision to cook unhealthy food on her show that ultimately led to her own bout with diabetes.

He called Deen's support of a new treatment "cynical" and "greedy."
