Apollo Nida Calls His Marriage 'Good'

Apollo Nida is working hard on his marriage to Phaedra Parks.

Nida, the husband of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star attorney Parks, has not shied away from admitting his marital issues on the Bravo TV show after he was accused of inappropriately text messaging his wife's co-star Kenya Moore. While attempting to overcome that hump, Nida found himself in legal trouble.

Nida made headlines earlier this year for allegedly creating fake businesses, false bank accounts and using stolen checks while defrauding automotive lenders, according to Access Atlanta. The Associated Press reported that Nida, the 35-year-old fitness guru and reality television personality, has officially admitted being involved in conspiracy to commit mail, wire, and bank fraud worth $2.3 million across 11 states.

Although he will receive sentencing that could change his life July 8, Nida insists that his marriage is doing well.

"We're cool," Nida told Radar Online. "Everything's good ... we're working to make it better."

Still, the pair did not spend the July 4 holiday with one another. However, Nida had good reason.

"She's in Mexico for someone's birthday," he told Radar Online. "Fantasia [Barrino]."

Just before they married in 2009, Nida was released from jail. However, he previously defended his wife's choice to marry him despite his criminal record.

"If I was a deadbeat, if I was no good, just a jailbird, whatever … You're talking about an educated woman with many, many accolades under her belt," Nida told StraightFromtheA.com. "You don't think with all of that, she can pick a man? Let's think about that."

Nida added, "there's something that I had to offer."

While Nida faces 30 years in prison, he previously spoke about her leavng him while he potentially goes to prison

"I think Phaedra, in a perfect world, should be supportive as a wife should be ... But if she chooses to derail from the plan, then that's what she chooses to do," he previously said on the radio station V103. "Apollo is prepared for whatever happens in life. Whatever's been thrown at me, I deal with it."
