Ariana Grande Wants To Be Like Barbra Streisand
Ariana Grande, the 20-year-old pop star, is looking to mold her career after Barbra Streisand instead of some other pop stars who like to party frequently.
Grande is covering Cosmopolitan magazine in January where she is opening up about what sets her apart from other young women her age. One of those things is her preference for staying at home instead of partying.
"What excites younger people doesn't excite me… I'm kind of a boring, normal girl who likes Harry Potter and to sit in her pajamas and sing. A lot of my friends are partiers, but I've never really clicked with that," Grande told Cosmopolitan. "I like Barbra Streisand, and when was the last time you saw Babs getting, like, turnt up? That's kind of the road that I, as a lady, would like to go down."

Miley Cyrus, the 21-year-old singer, recently compared herself to Grande after the former became associated with a string of provocative performances and images.
"I don't have a bunch of celeb friends, because I feel like some of them are a little scared of the association," Cyrus told The New York Times. "This is terrible. I was backstage with Ariana Grande. I'm like, 'Walk out with me right now and get this picture, and this will be the best thing that happens to you, because just you associating with me makes you a little less sweet.'"
While Cyrus recognizes that Grande is attempting to be more edgy, she spoke about the differences that exist between them.
"I see her wearing the shorter things," Cyrus told the Times. "She comes in, and she goes, 'This made me feel like you." And I'm like, 'That was like my sixth grade prom dress.' She's, I think, still on Nickelodeon. She has people that she has to kind of respect."
Although she may not choose the same path, Grande previously defended Cyrus' bold performances and fashion choices.
"She's having so much fun. If her choices aren't for you, don't look at it, like, move on, talk about something else," Grande said, according to Reuters. "Worry about bettering your life, not hers. She's fine. Her life is the best that could be right now. You know, that's what bothers me about society and people. It's like, shut up. Shut up!"
