'Arrested Development' Season 4 Success Leads to Soundtrack Release
Fans of "Arrested Development" have something to get excited about again. The hit comedy's composer, David Schwartz, has announced that the show will be releasing a soundtrack.
As of now, it is not clear which songs Schwartz will include on the soundtrack. There are certainly a number of favorites to choose from, including "Big Yellow Joint," "All You Need Are Smiles," "You're a Crook Captain Hook," "Teamocil," and "Getaway."
In an interview with TV Guide, Schwartz discussed how difficult it will be to choose songs for the soundtrack.

"There are hundreds of pieces [that I could include] but I think I've cut it down to 40 or 50 so far. I've received so many requests and now I'm trying to whittle it down," the "Arrested Development" composer said.
Schwartz had been with the show since it began in 2003. He came up with the show's theme song, which is played on a ukulele. He also discussed with TV Guide what it is like to make music for the quirky comedy.
"The joke of that is, for a composer, it's always a challenge of how can we make bad music in some way fun and likable. That's always your evil plan," Schwartz said.
The season four song "Getaway" is largely responsible for the creation of the soundtrack. In the show, the song is a hit of fictional pop star Mark Cherry, and is written to send Gob a message to get away from the star and his entourage. The song quickly became a fan favorite.
"I'm glad it has some fans out there," Schwartz said.
He went on to explain that the song will be expanded for the soundtrack, saying, "There are other verses we didn't use, so we'll see what we can come up with."
The soundtack will be available on iTunes and vinyl, according to Television.mxdwn.com.
