'Arrow' Season 4 Episode 11 Spoilers: Diggle In A Standoff With Shadowspire; Show Boss Clarifies Oracle Rumors

The CW's hit superhero drama TV series "Arrow" Season 4 returns this week with a brand new and action-packed episode that will see Diggle (David Ramsey) going up against an enemy from the past. Meanwhile, the show's boss drops some major details on what's coming next for one of the major characters.

According to the synopsis provided over at The Futon Critic for the episode titled "A.W.O.L.," Diggle and his brother Andy (guest star Eugene Byrd) will get wind of the news that "an enemy of their wartime past" has come to Star City. The person in question happens to be a member of a criminal organization infamously known as the Shadowspire. However, their confrontation with the common foe will bring a shocking discovery.

In another development, the TFC summary indicated that due to the tragic events, Oliver (Stephen Amell) must learn to adopt "a whole new way of life." For those who missed it, this is hugely connected to Felicity's (Emily Bett Rickards) current situation wherein she is paralyzed after being shot by Damien Darhk's (Neal McDonough) minions in the previous episodes.

Speaking of Team Arrow's IT girl, executive producer Wendy Mericle sat down with Entertainment Weekly to reveal some details about the character.

"She's really grappling with the question of getting through this tragic event and figuring out what her life is going to look like afterward," the showrunner told the media outlet. "She knows Oliver has a tendency to revert to [his darker ways]. Despite herself, she's still in shock about what happened, and her focus is going to be mostly, and interestingly, on Oliver and trying to keep him from falling back into this dark hole he's been in the past."

Mericle, meanwhile, shed light on the theories being put out by fans that Felicity will become the Oracle.

"She is not Oracle," the EP clarified. However, the bespectacled lover of the titular hero will be given a "very fun, cool name in a future episode." Bestowing her a new "codename" is actually something that the writers have been planning for so long.

Find out how these events unfold when "Arrow" Season 4 airs this Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
