'Arrow' Season 4 News, Spoilers: Damien Darhk Spoils Mayoral Holiday Party; Felicity Biting The Dust?

The CW's hit superhero drama TV series "Arrow" Season 4 returns this week with its midseason finale episode that will surely leave its viewers gasping for air.

The promo trailer for the episode titled "Dark Waters" was recently shared over at YouTube and it looks like Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak will be having a grim holiday. The latter, in particular, might not make it when the show returns for its second half.

The video opens with a horrifying outdoor shooting incident where Ollie can be seen running without his suit. The scenes escalate showing an even more terrifying situation when a group of heavily-armed men crashes a party hosted by Oliver. This season's big bad, Damien Darhk, steps in and pushes the Star City mayoral candidate.

More trouble ensues as Damien and his men were shown ravaging Team Arrow's lair. It appears that destroying everything that Ollie has won't be enough to reciprocate what Damien suffered from the hands of the Green Arrow.

In the clip, the villain suggests that perhaps the best way to punish someone is by claiming a very special person, and that person in Oliver's life is none other than Felicity.

"As long as they're alive, you have something to fight for, that is what I am taking away from you!" Damien spilled his devious plan.

The scenes then cut to the resident tech genius being dragged by Darhk's men. She's then locked up inside a transparent chamber that appears to be lacking with ventilation. She can then be seen breathing heavily as she mouthed a phrase, telling Oliver that she loves him.

It is highly likely that before the show takes a momentary break, there will be someone who will say goodbye.

A report from TVLine quoted executive producer Wendy Mericle hinting that a character might be finding its way to the grave in the current season. As to when it should happen, the EP chose to keep mum.

"We're definitely toying with that," Mericle revealed, "and when and if we do decide to do that, it will reveal even more pertinent information about not who's going to be in the grave but certainly where our characters are when that [death] happens."

Will this be the last time that fans see Felicity Smoak? Find out when "Arrow" Season 4 midseason finale airs this Wednesday, Dec. 9 on The CW.
