Asus Zenfone 2 vs Motorola Moto G 2014 Specs, Price Review: Features Comparison

The Moto G is Motorola's budget smartphone that has continued to impress with its hardware specs and design. Meanwhile, Asus has just released a new device at CES 2015—the Zenfone 2, which is described to be a powerful phone that is reasonably priced for the budget conscious tech fan.

Here, we compare the two phones:

Design:
The Moto G has rounded corners and an arched back, making it extremely comfortable to hold. The phone has flat sides and fifteen possible backplate covers so you can change them according to your whim. The phone measures 5.6 x 2.8 x 0.43 inches and weighs 149 grams.

The Asus Zenfone 2 has a chassis with a brushed metal texture reminiscent of the LG G3. The handset measures 6 x 3.03 x 0.43 inches and weighs 170 grams. The Zenfone 2 is available in Glacier Gray, Osmium Black, Glamour Red, Ceramic White, and Sheer Gold.

Features:
The Moto G has a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and pixel density of 294ppi. Images are bright and detailed enough, but colors can appear to be quite dull under certain lights.

The Zenfone 2 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and pixel density of 403ppi. It's protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3, making it scratch-proof.

The Moto G is powered by 1.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat, but the Asus phone has a more powerful processor which is a 2.3GHz Intel Atom chip plus 4GB of RAM, and it runs on the Android Lollipop.

As for the camera, the Moto G has an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front shooter, but the Zenfone 2 beats it with a 13MP rear shooter and 5MP front -acing camera.

The Moto G comes in 8GB and 16GB variants which can be expanded up to 64GB with a micro SD card, while the Zenfone 2 comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants and comes with micro SD card support.

Price:
The Moto G costs $179, while the Zenfone 2 costs $200.
