'Avatar 2' News: Production Begins in April?
Finally, there is some good news for fans who have long been waiting for any updates on the sequel of the ambitious and hit movie "Avatar."
According to Coming Soon, production for "Avatar 2" will start this April, and shooting will once again take place in New Zealand, meaning fans in the area can expect some of director James Cameron and his crew setting up stuff needed for the set.
A new trilogy is set to commence with the sequel and it is expected that the upcoming films will feature nothing but the magic of advanced technology. Expectations are pretty high for the sequel, not only because it almost took forever for the movie to ever happen but also because Cameron is also said to shoot the trilogy simultaneously.

Shooting three films simultaneously is no easy task and the risks are very high. On the other hand, the franchise is like no other — with a fanbase in the millions — and it is only reasonable that 20th Century Fox is willing to wager on movies' success.
While the new shooting start date is a delay, fans can give Cameron some leeway since the previous movie has proven worthy of cash. Some were disappointed with the delay, but apparently, the dismay was somehow eased, knowing that Cameron is taking the sequel seriously now more than ever.
Last year, there were rumors about the plot possibly exploring Pandora further. This means fans will get to see more of the beautiful Na'vi world and possibly even its roots and backstory.
Other rumors suggest that war will once again begin between man and the Na'vis as it is speculated that Stephen Lang will reprise his role as the villain who wants to conquer Pandora and its resources.
What's clear is the return of Sam Worthington as Jake Sully and Zoe Saldana as Neytiri. It is unclear if other characters, such as Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez, will make their comeback.
"Avatar 2" is scheduled to hit big screens sometime in 2017.
