Lionel Messi has been in his usual amazing form, and has scored two goals so far. Pedro has also supported him and has also claimed two goals until now. Cesc Fabregas, who was rumored to be on his way out of Barcelona over the summer before confirming his future to the Catalan side, has played wonderfully, assisting two goals already this season.

Keeper Victor Valdes has also been in great form, and including international play, he has not conceded a goal since February.

Valencia will be Barcelona's toughest test so far this season, and they were one of the few sides able to steal points away from Barca last season. Last season when these two teams met, Barcelona won 1-0, before Valencia claimed a draw in the second 1-1.

Both clubs have had relatively quiet summers in the transfer window, which ends on Monday. Barcelona been tied though to Benefica's Oscar Cardozo and Porto's Ellaquin Mangala.

Barcelona also reportedly came to terms on a new contract with 22-year-old forward Cristian Tello on Friday, and are probably satisfied with the acquisition of Neymar earlier this summer.
