'Batman: The Telltale Series' Season 1 Release For Nintendo Switch Revealed

Telltale Games has revealed that the entire first season of its "Batman: The Telltale Series" will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. North American Switch owners will get the chance to play as the caped crusader starting Nov. 14.

The first season of the episodic point-and-click graphic adventure video game was released back in 2016 to generally positive reviews. However, there were a few technical difficulties out of the gate that, hopefully, would be addressed with the game's port to the hybrid console.

Season 1 of the game contains five episodes: Realm of Shadows, Children of Arkham, New World Order, Guardian of Gotham, and City of Light. Players will enter the fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne and discover the powerful and far-reaching consequences of their choices as the Dark Knight.

For those getting into the game for the first time, don't expect it to be thrilling right off the bat. The story starts out slow but quickly picks up the pace that by the end of episode two, players will be left with huge cliff-hangers and huge decisions that will directly impact how they experience the rest of the series.

Diehard Batman fans will be pleased to know that "Batman: The Telltale Series" offers a fresh new interpretation of the character's story. According to Telltale, the game's narrative universe is set in current times and not tied to any existing iteration of Batman in games, film, or comics.

The developer has yet to announce if the Switch version will also incorporate a feature called "crowd play", available on both the PC and console versions. Crowd play allows the game to be watched by an audience who can participate in the decision-making process through Telltale's website by providing the player's audience with a unique code to participate in that session through any web-enabled device.

Telltale has said that the Nintendo Switch was a "perfect match" for the studio. Aside from "Batman: The Telltale Series," the developer is also bringing "Guardians of the Galaxy" to the Nintendo console.
