BBM Service Appears on Android OS in New Screen Shot

Blackberry messenger service recently appeared on Android OS in a screen shot that was leaked by TechnoBuffalo.

The application better known as BBM is expected to make its way to both Android and iOS later on this year. However, it seems that the software is already being tested on Google's platform.

TechnoBuffalo's sources were able to provide a screen shot that shows BBM running in an Android code debugger.

The Android software in the image looks like Froyo.

BBM kept the Blackberry afloat in the smartphone war virtually connecting millions of people on a network that was free of text message charges and gave customers the ability to set up statuses and add pictures.

Blackberry owners could build up their contacts list and instantly connect with them by sending texts at a faster pace. The app even shows when a message is received by a person.

Both Android and iOS do not feature an application that works the way BBM does. It has been a main selling point for the Blackberry over the years.

The latest version of the software allow users to use a QR code to add each other to their contacts list rather than having to enter in a numeric PIN or an email address. Newer Blackberrys can exchange contacts by using NFC (near-field communications).

The software provides Blackberry owners with perks such as sending and receiving messages with unlimited length, choosing a personal BBM status and picture, sharing photos and videos with multiple contacts at once, sending music files, and the ability to create and join groups where lists and photos can be discussed.

Apple recently added iMessage to its operating system on the iPhone; however, it only eliminates the text message charges for iPhone-to-iPhone texts.
