Benny Hinn, Ex-Wife to Wait on 'God's Plan' Before Remarrying

Popular Christian minister Benny Hinn has publicly addressed questions regarding the reconciliation with his wife, Suzanne, but has revealed that talks of a remarriage ceremony are premature, as the couple is first waiting for God to complete "His plan for (their) future."

"One of the things Sue and I have determined to do is to wait on the Lord as He completes the work in our lives and marriage. And as much as we would like to rush the process, those who are giving spiritual guidance and oversight have encouraged us to walk, not run, and to wait on the Lord as He completes His plan for our future," Hinn writes in a new message on his ministry website, noting the great interest and many questions that have surrounded his reunion with his wife, Suzanne Hinn.

The couple had fallen on hard times in Feb. 2010 when Suzanne Hinn filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as a reason. When announcing their reconciliation earlier this summer, Benny Hinn revealed that there were a number of reasons for their split. He admitted that his work, which takes him around the world performing faith healings and teaching a prosperity Gospel might have gotten in the way of him being the best husband and father he can be. He also shared, however, that his wife had been struggling with drug dependency for nearly 15 years, and said that he did not fully understand "just how much harm they were causing to her, physically and emotionally."

Hinn's updates of the reconciliation have been filled with the pastor's gratitude to everyone praying for their marriage and wishing them well, but in his latest posting he affirms that the couple will try not to repeat the mistakes of the past and will take things slowly, looking for God's guidance. A rumored re-marriage ceremony for Oct. 26 was never confirmed, and the Texas preacher has refused to set any hard dates for such an event.

"We are enjoying our courtship, communicating more openly than ever before, and standing in amazement as our precious Lord Jesus heals the pains of the past. He has literally created a new heart of love in us both," Hinn's message continued.

"We have learned much through the mistakes of the past and never want to repeat any of the things that led to the breakdown of our marriage. So as we walk through this process of restoration and completion, we can't thank you enough for being there with us every step of the way. I look forward, in the very near future, to giving you the joyous news of the date, place, and time when we will stand before the Lord at the sacred marriage altar."
