Beyonce Hinted at Pregnancy In CNN, InStyle Interviews? (VIDEO)

Beyonce Knowles surprised fans when she appeared on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) Sunday night caressing her baby bump, but based on interviews the singer gave previously, she might have already been dropping hints about her pregnancy.

Standing before a gaggle of photographers at the 28th annual VMAs, Beyonce, 29, rubbed her belly and then told them she had a surprise: she and husband Jay-Z, 41, were expecting their first child.

The very-public baby announcement, repeated on stage during her VMA performance (see video below), might have been news to most fans, but astute followers of the pop diva might have caught on when Beyonce made some curious statements in a series of interviews this summer.

"Now I'm a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children," Beyonce said of her career in an article published on InStyle's website on Aug. 16.

Beyonce had also made similar remarks during a CNN interview. In an interview with Piers Morgan in June, Beyonce was asked to address pregnancy rumors, which had been in circulation since October of last year.

Beyonce, whose birthday is in September, told Morgan, "I always said I'd have a baby at 30. But I also said I'm going to retire at 30 ... Only God knows."

The singer added, "I feel like a woman. I feel like I'm very aware of who I am. I feel great and I feel like 30 is the ideal age [to start a family], because you're mature enough to know who you are and to have your boundaries and your standards, and not be afraid, too polite - but you're young enough to be a young woman. I'm so looking forward to it."

According to Us Weekly magazine, Beyonce was believed to be about three months along, which means it is likely the singer was pregnant at the time of the CNN interview in June when the singer made those profound remarks.

Beyonce and Jay-Z (born Shawn Carter) were married in 2008 after dating for about eight years.
