Beyonce Pregnant: VMA Confirmed - Not a Rumor This Time Around
The buzz is starting again that pop-singer Beyonce is pregnant, but this time it is finally true. Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards, the singer announced that she is pregnant with her first child. The Grammy Award-winning artist is reported to be in her third trimester.
In 2008, Beyonce married rapper Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. The couple is known for being private about their relationship but Beyonce never made her desire to have children a secret.
“I definitely want to have a child, but I know from my nephew it’s a lot. I hope that those things will just happen naturally. I still haven’t had time to relax,” she told Allure magazine in 2010.

Shortly after her “4” album dropped in June, Beyonce sat down with CNN’s Piers Morgan for an exclusive hour-long interview. The singer discussed the anticipation of turning 30 in September adding, “I always said I’d have a baby at 30. I’m 29. But I also said I was going to retire at 30 and I’m not retiring.”
When asked does this mean a baby is on the way, Beyonce responded, “Only God knows.”
Since her low-key wedding ceremony, the rumor mill has been filled with stories that Beyonce had a bun in the oven.
In March 2010, an unknown source reported that Jay-Z was “extremely happy to be having his first child with Bey.”
The source stated that the singer was “fine and resting” and expected to “continue working through her pregnancy.”
However, Beyonce’s publicist quickly denied the rumors as “untrue.”
The gossip did not end there because just eight months later, Us Magazine reported that Beyonce was pregnant and “no one was more surprised than the singer herself.”
Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and responded to the rumors by saying, “No, no it’s not right. Not right now.”
Tina Knowles added that if she believed every rumor about her daughter’s pregnancy, by now he would “have five or six grandchildren.”
In an interview, Beyonce addressed the pregnancy speculation saying, “My ambition is to continue to learn about the world and to eventually have a family. I’m very loyal. I want a whole bunch of kids, but after I’ve got certain things out of my system first.”
At that time, Beyonce realized there was no need to rush becoming a mother, saying there are “no dates, no times-it will happen when I am ready.”
It seems that days before turning 30, Beyonce is ready to start a family.
She appeared on the red carpet at the VMAs holding her “baby bump” and after performing “Love on Top,” the singer unbuttoned her jacket and playfully rubbed her stomach. A source close to the couple said this “is a gift from God” and that the singer is “so happy.”
