Bible Classic 'Noah' Set for Movie Adaptation With Darren Aronofsky
Paramount Pictures and New Regency Productions have joined together to create a film adaption of the Bible classic "Noah."
John Logan, Academy Award-winning screenwriter of movies "Gladiator" and "The Aviator," will be on board to re-write the script created by director and co-producer Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel. The producer attached to the project is Scott Franklin.
Aronofsky has always wanted to create this story on screen. He stated in a press release, “Since I was a kid, I have been moved and inspired by the story of Noah and his family's journey. The imaginations of countless generations have sparked to this epic story of faith. It's my hope that I can present a window into Noah's passion and perseverance for the silver screen."

Aronofsky was nominated for an Oscar last year for Best Director for his work in the film "Black Swan."
According to a report from Deadline.com, Paramount won the rights to “Noah” in a bidding battle against 20th Century Fox last summer.
"It's the end of the world and it's the second-most famous ship after the Titanic. So I'm not sure why any studio won't want to make it," said the director in an interview with Slash Film.
Aronofsky is pursuing Christian Bale to play the lead role of the 600-year-old Noah, but no official announcement has been made by either party as to if Bale has accepted. Previously, the two worked together on Bale's last movie "The Fighter."
It has been reported that filmmakers hope to get the movie into production by spring.
