'Blindspot' Season 1B Spoilers: Fischer Wants To Smoke Out The Rat; Series Star Shares Details About Character
NBC's hit crime-fighting drama TV series "Blindspot" left for a holiday break with a huge ruckus. It was discovered that the country's own security agency was compromised and it would only be a matter of time before everyone's lives will be endangered.
In the recent spoiler report from Entertainment Weekly, it was revealed that John Hodgman's new character, Chief Inspector Fischer, will spearhead an investigation that will seek out the mole on Agent Weller's (Sullivan Stapleton) team.
"He's going to play an OPR Agent — the Office of Professional Conduct," executive producer Martin Gero told the media outlet.
"Basically he feels like maybe Mayfair [Marianne Jean-Baptiste] is not running the New York Office of the FBI in the right way and certainly has some huge questions about how liable Patterson [Ashley Johnson] is in David's [Joe Dinicol] death," Gero went on to explain.
For those who missed it, David was killed in the "Authentic Flirt/Lift The Curtain" episode. The latter had illegally collaborated with Patterson in figuring out Jane Doe's (Jaimie Alexander) mysterious tattoos. Before his death, he went to the library to investigate further the remaining detail of one of the pictures. There, he encountered a red-haired woman who was assumed to be his killer.
The EP went on to to say that Hodgman's character liked finding the bad things in order to get rid of them. This is what motivates him to play a lead role in the mole hunt.
In related news, according to a recent Stuff report, Stapleton talked about his character, Agent Weller. According to him, more of Kurt's past will be unraveled in the coming episodes of the series. Apparently, the driving force behind all these would be Weller's mission to help Jane.
"That's sort of what drives him to his past, to something happened to him in his past, in trying to help her find out who she is and trying to solve some of these cases that are linked to all those tattoos," he told the media outlet.
According to The Futon Critic, "Blindspot" Season 1 Episode 11 will return on Feb. 29.
