'Bones' Season 11 Spoilers, Plot News: Show Boss Talks Hodgins' Predicament, Second Half Of Season, Season 12 Plans

Fox's hit police-procedural drama TV series "Bones" Season 11 ended with a rather shocking finale that left Aubrey (John Boyd) gravely injured and Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) partially disabled. Meanwhile, co-showrunner John Collier gave hints on the show's future.

Spoiler alert for those who still haven't yet seen Dec. 10's episode called "The Doom in the Boom," the Jeffersonian team was called to inspect a crime scene where a dead police officer was found. It turns out that the enforcer's body was rigged with a bomb and when it went off, it killed several officers around and caused serious damage to the Jeffersonian operatives.

Good thing for Aubrey, the show left him in a recovering condition. However, Hodgins got the short end of the stick as he is now paralyzed from the waist down. Will the forensic scientist be able to walk again?

In an interview with TVLine, Collier clarified that Hodgins' predicament is a way for the show to test the character and its relationship with Angela (Michaela Conlin).

"It's going to get really difficult for them. We believe in them as a couple, but we really want to push them…," the executive producer said. When asked further if the viewers will be able to literally find Hodgins back on his feet again when the show returns next year, Collier said: "there's a good chance he will never walk again."

As for Aubrey, Collier hinted that the FBI agent will be experiencing some "romantic complications" on the second half of the season.

Speaking of which, Collier went on to tease some external factors that will once again shake up the relationship between Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel).

"Something from outside is going to happen and it's going to put them, as a couple, under duress," he said.

When asked about the show's future, Collier only said that they are approaching things as if the comedy-drama won't be coming back anymore. However, if greenlighted with a season 12, they could just easily make some revisions on the script.

According to Collier, "Bones" Season 11B might return to the small screens sometime in March or April.
