Brandi Glanville: Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes Affair 'Helped Me'

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Brandi Glanville recently revealed that her ex-husband Eddie Cibrian's extramarital affair with singer LeAnn Rimes was not entirely bad, as it ultimately helped her achieve financial independence.

The outspoken reality TV star revealed many devastating aspects of her divorce from Cibrian, 39, including the pain of being left financially indigent. The 39-year-old admitted that learning about his affair with Rimes, 30, ultimately enabled her to grow and move forward, according to FoxNews.com.

"It made me realize that this was really happening. I think you can fall under a delusion and you don't want to admit it to yourself. It made it real and it made me realize he was moving on," Glanville told Fox.

"He did not care about me any longer or he wouldn't be out and about with this woman getting photographed, so I had no choice but to move on. I think it helped me to be honest," she added.

Glanville, who was married to Cibrian for eight years, was left heartbroken after he cheated with Rimes, who was also married, in 2009. The affair scandal was only part of her heartache, as she later discovered that he had left her and their two sons with nothing.

"I was a 36-year-old woman who couldn't lease a car and couldn't lease a house! For 13 years, my name wasn't on one account. I am still building my credit," Glanville told The New York Post.

"We were living way above our means in a 10,000-square-foot house. There wasn't a lot to get [in the divorce settlement] honestly," she explained.

The Bravo TV reality star shares joint custody of sons Jake, 5, and Mason, 9 with Cibrian, and despite being left with very little, as she claims, the former actor allegedly refused to help them find a home. Glanville was eventually forced to turn to her family.

"I had to pay the whole year in advance," she said regarding her rented single-story San Fernando Valley home. "I had to get my daddy to co-sign."
